Tristan qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in May 2000. He worked at KPMG specialising in personal tax issues for UK and international ultra-high net worth individuals. He also focussed on offshore trusts and the tax issues facing internationally-mobile individuals, particularly those coming to the UK.
During his career he has worked with entrepreneurs, owner managed businesses, and large family offices. He has also advised private equity firms, and was seconded to the private banking arm of a high street name to develop and implement their tax policy across the UK and the Channel Islands.
After eleven years in practice with KPMG, and having progressed to Senior Tax Manager in the London Private Client practice, Tristan moved into industry. His first role was establishing the office for the Chairman and Founder of a FTSE 100 company. More recently Tristan has worked in the office of a Swiss family, advising on the tax structuring for the hedge fund, private equity, and real estate businesses. Tristan’s notable work here was assisting in the creation and building of a $1Bn asset management group, working closely with the stakeholders, managers and advisers of target businesses.
Within Linkstep, Tristan is a director and also manages our own tax compliance, ensuring the company runs smoothly. His 14 years experience of UK tax is utilised on complex claims and where technical engagement is required with HMRC to support a claim for one of our clients.
