Brett started working with LinkStep in 2019 as a technical analyst. He is responsible for conducting technical interviews, technical analysis, claim management and the compilation of R&D claims.
Brett is a valuable asset to the LinkStep team and brings with him a wealth of software engineering experience, having previously worked across multiple roles in the field of software development. Key appointments have included Technical Architect and Senior Analyst roles in the Finance Sector.
With a working experience of almost 20 years in software development, coupled with a BSc (Honours) degree in Computing, his academic and working background combine to form a solid knowledge base in order to leverage, understand and analyse activities against the BEIS Guidelines on the definition of R&D-for-tax-purposes.
“Having worked heavily in software development for 20 years, my career has given me a considerable foundation to be able to listen to developers and understand their work– all of which is critical when compiling, maximising and (if required) defending R&D claims. I am passionate about software technology. The diversity of LinkStep’s client base, combined with LinkStep’s integrity in their approach to claim work – is what attracted me to work here. ”
When not working on R&D claims, Brett can’t help but continue to code and design new software in his spare time, with innovative concepts developed for website and mobile app environments.
